Flew up to Apex Airpark today. As long as I've been flying, Apex has been a private airport. Fairly recently they opened it to the public so I thought I would check it out.
A lot of low clouds today. It was nice at my house, and nice east of TIW, but pretty cloudy in between.

You have to be careful not to go too far North as you could enter the Bangor Sub Base Prohibited area.
On final for 17 at Apex. Notice the slope of the runway, it goes up, then back down.
On the taxiway heading back to the North.
Makes good sense
They haven't removed the "Private" off their sign yet.
